The People Strengthening America’s Supply Chain
For James, working on equipment used by the U.S. Air Force means a connection to his family and an opportunity to contribute to something meaningful. “It means a lot to me,” he said. “I have family who served in the Air Force, so it’s like a family thing now.” Knowing that the work he does helps support military missions gives him a strong sense of pride and purpose. “It makes me happy,” he shared. “We’re helping other people, which makes me feel good.”
Finding Purpose Through Work
While supporting the military is important to James, the job has also had a positive impact on his own life. “This job helps me mentally,” he explained. “I’m here, and I’m doing something that I enjoy with people that I like.” That sense of purpose and connection has made a meaningful difference, giving him the opportunity to contribute while being part of a team he enjoys working alongside every day.
More Complex Than It Looks
When James first started, he was surprised by how much goes into producing a cargo net. “I didn’t realize that it was a lot of small, extremely precise steps and not just one big task,” he said. Each net moves through multiple stages, requiring focus, teamwork, and attention to detail every step of the way.
Proud of the Mission
One of the things James is most proud of is seeing the finished product leave the facility. “When we send out finished nets, they’re going to a good cause,” he said. Knowing that something he helped create will support military personnel around the world gives extra meaning to the work.
Precision Matters
For James, quality starts with precision. “Precision is the most important thing,” he said. “Nothing can go wrong.” That commitment to quality means staying focused and paying attention to every detail. “You need to always be looking, triple-check, and pay attention to all the details,” he explained. “Otherwise, it ends up causing more work for everyone.”
His dedication helps ensure the team produces a product they can be proud of and that service members can rely on.
Learning and Growing
Working at TAC has helped James grow both personally and professionally. “I’ve grown as a person and as an employee,” he said. “The world has more to offer, you just have to open your eyes.” One of the most valuable skills he’s developed is patience, something he says has helped him both at work and in life.
A Team That Supports Each Other
James values the people he works with and the culture of support that surrounds him. “At any point, if I have a question, I can talk to any of my teammates and they will help me,” he said. That willingness to help one another creates a workplace where people feel comfortable learning, growing, and succeeding together.
He also appreciates the investment made in employee development. “The training from management is different,” he explained. “They take the time to train you on how to do the job so that you are able to confidently do it on your own.”
Building Something That Helps
When asked what his work means to him, James offered a thoughtful reflection: “It’s for a good cause. I’m helping the community and building something that doesn’t destroy, but helps.”
His story highlights the impact meaningful work can have, not only on the people who benefit from it, but on the people who do it every day. Through dedication, patience, and pride in a job well done, James is helping strengthen America’s supply chain while making a difference in the lives of others.
