Carla Represents TAC at Grassroots Advocacy Conference in Washington, D.C.
This week, TAC’s very own Carla traveled to Washington, D.C. to take part in the Grassroots Advocacy Conference, where she proudly represented the voices of people with disabilities in the workforce.
Carla shared her story of employment at TAC’s cargo net manufacturing facility, where she and her coworkers build nets for the U.S. Air Force. Her experience is a powerful reminder of the importance of meaningful employment opportunities for people with disabilities and how those opportunities strengthen both individuals and communities.
During her visit, Carla met with several key policymakers, including Senator Jon Husted, Senator Bernie Moreno, and Congressman Mike Turner. She discussed the impact of disability employment programs and how organizations like TAC help people achieve greater independence, skill-building, and pride in their work.
We are incredibly proud of Carla for stepping into this role as an advocate, sharing her personal journey, and showing leaders in Washington what disability employment looks like in action. Her voice helps shape the future of opportunities for many others across the country.
