If you’ve visited TAC recently, chances are you’ve been greeted by Tori’s friendly face and welcoming personality. As our receptionist, she’s one of the first people you’ll see when you walk through our doors, and she plays a key role in keeping communication and support flowing throughout the organization.
We sat down with Tori to learn more about her role, what she loves most about her work, and some surprising facts about her life outside of TAC.
How would you describe your role at TAC?
A little diverse! I assist people where needed and provide general support and communication throughout the building.
What parts of TAC’s mission do you connect with the most?
I connect most with aiding and empowering people with disabilities. It’s rewarding to be part of an organization that truly focuses on making a difference.
What’s your favorite part of your job?
The people I get to interact with every day! Everyone here is so unique, and I love getting to know them.
What aspect of your job do you find the most rewarding?
Being able to interact with all the different people we have here and seeing the difference we are making in their lives.
Do you have a favorite memory or story from your time at TAC?
I love the major events we hold during the year. It’s amazing to see staff and team members relax, live in the moment, and enjoy themselves. It’s a reminder of how important their work is and that they deserve to be celebrated.
In your opinion, what’s the most important skill someone needs to be successful?
Being grounded, working with what you have, and adapting to whatever comes your way.
What’s the most important lesson you’ve learned throughout your career?
It’s okay to move at a pace that works for you, as long as you’re moving forward.
If you had three wishes, what would they be?
The ability to make sure people have what they need to achieve what they want, give people stability to achieve their goals, and provide people validation.
What’s something people might be surprised to learn about you?
I didn’t start writing until I was in college and I’m now a published writer!
What are you most proud of in your personal life?
I was thrown a lot of curveballs at a young age and was able to overcome them on my own and create a beautiful life. That’s my greatest accomplishment.
