This week, Meet Sharon!
If you’ve ever had the pleasure of interacting with our RidesPlus team, there’s a good chance you’ve experienced the heart, dedication, and calm-in-the-chaos leadership of Sharon. As the RidesPlus Supervisor, Sharon ensures the wheels - literally - keep moving. She’s been with TAC for over two years and brings a deeply personal connection to our mission every single day.
We sat down with Sharon to learn more about what drives her, what she loves about her role, and what surprising accomplishment she’s most proud of.
What parts of TAC’s mission do you connect with the most?
“Having a child with epilepsy myself, I really connect with helping people reach their full potential despite any barriers they may face. That’s incredibly meaningful to me.”
What’s your favorite part of your job?
“Walking on the floor and seeing the team smiling and happy no matter what they’re going through. That energy is contagious and motivating. It's hard to have a bad day when you see everyone out there.”
What aspect of your job do you find the most rewarding?
“There’s never a dull moment. I love being able to problem-solve, sort out any messes, and make sure every one of our clients gets where they need to go safely.”
Do you have a favorite memory or story from your time at TAC?
“Being involved in the different events, helping to plan them and seeing the smiles on people’s faces. That really makes your heart happy.”
In your opinion, what’s the most important skill someone needs to be successful?
“You have to believe in people and what you’re doing. And you need patience ... lots of it.”
If you had three wishes, what would they be?
“A cure for epilepsy, for people to get along better, and to live a happy life.”
What’s one thing most people would be surprised to learn about you—or something you’re especially proud of?
“I helped to pass a law in Ohio - the Seizure Safe School Law, also known as Sarah’s Law. It was very personal to me, and I’m so proud of it. Ohio became the 23rd state to pass it. It will save lives.”
At TAC, we’re lucky to have Sharon on our team. Her compassion, resilience, and drive for advocacy make a daily difference in the lives of our clients and coworkers alike. When you see her next, be sure to thank her not only for the smooth ride, but for the powerful impact she’s making, both here and beyond.
The varied talents and unique perspectives showcased throughout this series are a testament to the strength of our TAC family. Our collective journey is fueled by the passion and dedication to our mission, along with the collaborative spirit of each team member.
