Behind the Scenes of TAC: Meet Dan!
At TAC, we believe that our greatest asset is not just the products or services we offer, but the incredible individuals who form the heart and soul of our organization. Our employees are the driving force behind our success and their talents, stories, and contributions shape the culture that defines us.
In this spirit, we are excited to launch our Meet the Team series and showcase the exceptional people who make TAC what it is. Join us each week on this exciting journey as we shine a spotlight on the people whose dedication, passion, and expertise embody the essence of our company.
This week, Meet Dan!
Dan works in our transportation department as a driver, ensuring individuals get to and from their workplaces safely every day. He engages with everyone and always tries to turn someone's bad day into a good one.
What part of our mission do you connect with?
Bridging people's abilities with what they want to do.Â
What is your favorite part of the job?
The people. I try to do "10 seconds of individual time" when someone is getting on or off my bus to have a brief conversation with them. Just being open, caring, a little bit silly, and listening really makes such an impact on people's lives.
What was a moment that you felt proud to be a part of TAC?
Watching the individuals grow in their roles out in the community. Seeing someone go from hesitant on their first day and then blossoming into the person they want to be and feeling comfortable and safe in their role.
What has been the most important lesson you’ve learned throughout your career?
Don't make assumptions about people based on their skills or level of interest in any area. I like the quote "If you've met one person with disabilities ... you've met one person with disabilities." Everyone is different.
If you had three wishes, what would they be?
Money, Health, and World Peace.
What is one thing on your bucket list?
To go to Europe.
What are you most proud of in your personal life?
My two kids.
What is something you've always wanted to learn?
How to ride a motorcycle.
