This week, Meet Amy!
Amy started at TAC just over a month ago and works with the human resources department, working with staff, management, and team members.
How would you describe your role at TAC?
I am the correspondent between management and staff, ensuring smooth communication and helping to foster a positive work environment. My role involves supporting employees, addressing concerns, and making sure that everyone has the resources they need to succeed.
What parts of TAC’s mission do you connect with the most?
TAC’s dedication to bringing individuals with disabilities and other barriers into the workforce and the real world.Â
What aspect of your job do you find the most challenging and the most rewarding?
The most challenging part of my role is learning all the policies! The challenge is also rewarding because it helps me better support our team and create an environment where everyone can thrive.
What are you most proud of in your career so far?
Earning my SHRM-CP (Society for Human Resource Management Certified Professional) certification is something I’m incredibly proud of. It represents my commitment to continuous learning and professional development in the HR field.
What is your favorite story or memory from your time at TAC?
Dance Party Fridays! There’s nothing like seeing everyone let loose and have fun together. It’s a great reminder that work should be enjoyable, too.
What do you think is the most important skill or quality someone needs to have to be successful?
Determination and resilience.Â
Where do you think you can have the biggest impact in your role?
Building relationships. HR is all about people, and I believe that establishing trust and open communication with employees and leadership will make the biggest difference.
What has been the most important lesson you’ve learned throughout your career?
To listen.Â
